Planit, a place-based design practice, is seeking a Project Landscape Architect / Senior Landscape Architect to join our team in Altrincham. We have developed within Greater Manchester, and the Altrincham studio is the practice’s headquarters. Whether working with the communities of East Manchester to create a district of global significance, or striving to repair our beloved hometown of Altrincham, we are part of the city and its growing creative community.
We have designed new city centre squares, public realm and connecting streetscapes at First Street North and within the Co-operative’s historic estate at Sadler’s Yard, NOMA. We are redesigning St Peter’s Square, the city’s primary public space in the Town Hall’s foreground and were co-masterplanners and Landscape Architects for Circle Square, the new mixed-use redevelopment of the former BBC site at the heart of the City’s Corridor initiative. Our work extends widely throughout the surrounding region, from urban to rural environs, developing opportunities for community benefit and reconnection to nature at Pennington Flash and Northern Roots, the UK’s largest urban farm and eco-park project in Oldham.
You’ll be working on career defining projects that will help shape the future of the city and wider region for future generations and will be actively engaged in delivering exceptional public realm schemes. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our studio culture and mentor less experienced colleagues.
To qualify for this position, you should possess a post-graduate qualification in Landscape Architecture and at least 3 years of post-graduate experience as well as Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute.
You should be capable of managing projects from inception to completion and have demonstrable experience of managing workloads and mentoring team members.
We are committed to standing alongside clients, communities, and nature to shape meaningful places and explore regenerative futures. As the first B Corp of our profession in the world, we prioritise people, planet, and profit equally, and we welcome candidates who share these values.
We offer a range of benefits to our employees, including a minimum of 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, flexible start and finish times, hybrid and flexible working, company pension, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, support with professional fees, CPD, and an annual study trip allowance. There are opportunities to work and collaborate across our UK wide studios.
We are an inclusive workplace that values diversity, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
If you are interested in this position, please upload an original cover letter, CV, and details of your experience (max file size 5mb) to apply. We do not accept postal copies or applications from agencies. We also welcome applications for any future roles that may arise in Liverpool, Leeds, London, and Standish near Stroud.
