We are delighted to announce our involvement in the regeneration of Altrincham’s Stamford Quarter. Being based in Altrincham and having played our part in the transformation of the town centre public realm over the past decade it’s clearly a project that is very close to our hearts.
The project aims to build upon the success of other parts of the town centre and revitalise the Stamford Quarter as a gateway to Altrincham, providing a combination of new homes, new workspace, and new retail and leisure opportunities that will complement the existing; overall helping to bring more people and activity to the town.
The public realm proposals focus on the revitalisation of Stamford Square as a playful, flexible community hub that can be programmed with events to maximise its potential. There will also be improvements to George Street, Stamford New Road and Stamford Way. These will extend the attractive, high quality, family friendly environment that has been delivered as part of the wider town centre public realm improvement works, enhancing accessibility and connectivity across Altrincham.
Planit has been working on a vision for the Stamford Quarter over the past few months in partnership with Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and our client, Bruntwood Works. The virtual public consultation is currently live so you can see the proposals and find out more at the following link: stamfordquarter.com/masterplan
Planit is also working as part of the BDP-led design team to deliver the public realm scheme associated with the refurbished Rackhams building, which sits at the heart of the new vision.
